Confessions of a Dry Shampooer

Whether it's from a can or from your cupboard, dry shampoo is a real lifesaver. It's there for you if you've overslept, if there isn't any hot water in your apartment, or even if your hair could use a little more volume. But regardless of how you use it, dry shampoo is definitely a way of life. And, surprisingly, there is a method to the madness.

The Saturday Face

the saturday face products Saturdays are my favorite days of the week. You can get up early with a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise on the deck, read a good book, venture outdoors... or, of course, you can do what I did today: you could sleep in and not even put on real pants.

Rosiest, Prettiest Lips with Clinique

I usually don't share single-product posts on this blog because I think they are rather boring, but I wanted to share my most recent find with you all: behold, the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Roomiest Rose.

Lip Lovings Lately

As I mentioned in my last post, I've never been a huge fan of lip products. I don't like to touch up my makeup during the day, so I like my makeup to be long-lasting. Therefore, a high maintenance lip color was out of the question.  Recently, however, I've been drawn more and more to purchasing and wearing lip products. Upon reorganizing my makeup, I found that half of my working collection was made of lip products! I've accumulated a list of five of my most recent go-tos below, so let's dive right in:

Handpicked: Favorites in May

It's been a while since I've curated all my favorites into one post! I skipped last month's because I just didn't find anything new or fresh to talk about, but I've definitely got a handful for you this month.

Save your beyond-stained makeup brushes with this simple trick.

I have a love/hate relationship with white-bristled makeup brushes. They are so pretty sitting in a cup on the vanity, calling out to be picked up and loved... or, even better, a quick stroke on the skin because they are so pleasantly fluffy.

However, they can be a little annoying to own, especially when the brushes in question are so well-loved. Duo-fibre, white-tipped, or all-white hairs on makeup brushes get stained so easily, even if you wash them hundreds of times. Isn't there a way to make them look all pretty, clean, and new again?

Yes. Yes, there is.

Ditch Dirty Hair: Make Your Own Dry Shampoo!

dry shampoo for brunettes blondes red hair, batiste dry shampoo, how to use dry shampoo, dry shampoo reviews, psst dry shampoo, save money at drugstore, get ready quickly in the morning, hair tips

I absolutely hate washing my hair. I have really long, thick, puffy hair that looks generally awful just after shampooing. Because of this, I try to wash my hair every few days instead of every day. I used to be one of those people that would go through a can of dry shampoo in a week, but that can get expensive pretty quickly. What’s a girl to do to get soft, manageable hair on a daily basis? Answer: raid your pantry. Seriously.

Handpicked for Spring: March Beauty Favorites

spring makeup recommendations picks, easy spring makeup, spring makeup drugstore, cheap spring makeup, affordable

Nicer weather is finally upon us! Longer days, more sunlight, and a fresh feel to the air seem to give life new meaning after the long months of winter. Bring on the sandals, bike rides, and flowers! Oh, and of course, the following recently curated beauty items.

Drugstore Find: L'Oréal Visible Lift CC Eye Concealer

good drugstore concealers, affordable undereye concealer, dark circle brightener, loreal, review

Can we talk about the Loreal Visible Lift CC Eye Concealer for a second? And by "talk," I mean "type"? And by "we," I mean "me"?

Red Hot: Revlon Super-Lustrous Lipstick in Cherry Blossom

Finding the perfect red lip is a journey that rarely results in success. It could take years to find the perfect red that suits your undertones, doesn't make your teeth look horribly yellow, and doesn't break the bank. Okay, maybe years is an exaggeration. Regardless, shopping for your perfect red is definitely a significant undertaking.

These are a few of my favorite things | February Favorites

I'm a little late to the party in getting this post up, but it's not just laziness this time. In the past few weeks I performed in RENT, had agonizingly long rehearsals for another play, and narrowly escaped midterms with my sanity in tact. I didn't have a lot of time to love a lot of things this month, but the few things I did love are big favorites.

Soft, Glowy Valentine's Day Makeup

Hello, friends! With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I figured that now is as good a time as any to show off some sweet makeup moves to you guys. However, almost every Valentine's Day makeup tutorial I've seen so far this season showcases a sultry, smoky eye, so I decided to go with something different. Besides, this look is way easier.

I've Made a Huge Mistake - Products I Regret Buying

Hello, friends!

I talk a lot about products I love on here and of all the different ways that I like to use them, but let's be real: makeup isn't always made of rainbows and butterflies. Sometimes, you just don't like things you thought you would love. It happens to the best of us. So, I decided that today I would put together a list of products that I regret buying. Maybe you and I are on the same page about some of them?

Five Minute Makeup!

Some days, you just don't want to fuss with a lot of makeup. All you want is a basic, fool-proof look that you can do in five minutes before sprinting off to your 11 AM literature class because you don't want to look like you just rolled out of bed, although you probably just did. (Oh, wait. Just me?) In any case, this is the five-minute, foolproof makeup I employ on a daily basis... probably because I'm always running late. Whoops!

Drugstore Makeup Haul!

Hello, friends! As I've gathered up my belongings to go back to school (my final semester of college! I can't believe it), I realized that I've accumulated a good number of new makeup items over the break. I've been meaning to try new things recently, and these have all been great additions to my collection. Here's what I picked up:

DIY Gentle Foaming Brush Cleanser

I'm a really lazy person. Like, really really lazy. Even if I know of something that would benefit me if I did it, I'll still put if off for as long as I possibly can for no apparent reason. So, if you're anything like me, then you procrastinate as much as you can when it comes to cleaning your makeup brushes.

It's okay - we all do it. It's really not any fun to do, it takes forever, and your brushes are just going to get dirty again. Who cares if your blending brush has too much eyeshadow on it? It'll just make defining your crease or blending out your smokey eye easier. Too lazy to wash your foundation brush, but you know you'll break out if you go too long? It's cool, you can still totally cover up any blemishes with more makeup.

Right? Wrong.

December Beauty Favorites {2013}

Hello, friends! Well, here we are... a week and a half into 2014 already. Time really gets away from you when you're not looking! Which totally explains why I'm late to the party with posting last month's favorites. If you're curious as to what my beauty essentials were in December, keep on reading!
