November Round-Up!

November has been a really productive month here at Mascara Warrior!

For those of you who may not have noticed, I changed the posting schedule two days a week to three (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), I updated the banner and some organization on the site (shout out to all my feed readers who don't normally visit the site - now's a great time, I promise), and changed the way I've been designing graphics for Mascara Warrior.

I can't wait to show you all the exciting things I have planned for December! But before we jump into everything happening in next month, here's everything that you might have missed:

Thanks for sticking with me this month. Keep checking back for all new content in December!

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Earlier this week, as members of my family started coming home for Thanksgiving, I sat on the couch next to my sister agonizing over a blog post. One post in particular had been bothering me all day: I couldn't take any photos that looked right, my camera's battery pack died, and I was running out of time to post something that day. "I can't post this yet," I grumbled. "It's not good enough."

"Don't you know that the perfect is the enemy of the good?"

For when you're feeling stuck...

It's easy to feel stuck in life sometimes. We live in the age of the newsfeed, and we're often bombarded with the exciting news of promotions, new jobs, engagements, and even babies. It's easy to feel inadquate when there's nothing exciting to report on your end. Whether you're feeling stuck because you're unemployed, underemployed, or you just wish you were at a different place in your life right now, here are some ideas to get you going again.

Confessions of a Dry Shampooer

Whether it's from a can or from your cupboard, dry shampoo is a real lifesaver. It's there for you if you've overslept, if there isn't any hot water in your apartment, or even if your hair could use a little more volume. But regardless of how you use it, dry shampoo is definitely a way of life. And, surprisingly, there is a method to the madness.

5 Things I wish I knew when I started blogging

If I could go back and tell me these things when I started blogging, I definitely would. | mascarawarrior.com

I've been thinking a lot recently about what I want out of my blog. I started Mascara Warrior a year and half ago as a fun place to talk about what I loved, but over time I began to get more and more discouraged. There were so many things that I didn't do well enough, and no matter how I tried I didn't see any improvements at all (sometimes I still feel this way!). Here are a few things I wish I could tell myself when I started blogging - and what I'll share with you so that you can spare yourself the same frustration.

Thank you for 100 Bloglovin followers!

After blogging for fun for the last year and a half, I reached a milestone: one hundred followers on Bloglovin! Mascara Warrior has been through quite a few changes over the course of its lifetime, starting out as a beauty-only blog to branching out to other topics (like blogging!). At the present, I've been working very hard to rebrand and generate better content for you guys, and I am very proud of this tiny little victory I've achieved.

Need blogging inspiration? Here are 25 post ideas to get you going.

November is upon us! A new month is a great opportunity to turn over a new leaf, especially when it comes to blogging and finding inspiration. I thought I'd branch out this month from what I normally do and include a little love for the art of blogging.

While brainstorming the posts I wanted to make here on Mascara Warrior for the coming month, I realized how rare it was to have a wealth of blog post ideas (since I know I definitely struggle with coming up with good blog topics sometimes). Then it hit me - it would be a nice change of pace to share those ideas with other content creators!
