Lip Lovings Lately

As I mentioned in my last post, I've never been a huge fan of lip products. I don't like to touch up my makeup during the day, so I like my makeup to be long-lasting. Therefore, a high maintenance lip color was out of the question.  Recently, however, I've been drawn more and more to purchasing and wearing lip products. Upon reorganizing my makeup, I found that half of my working collection was made of lip products! I've accumulated a list of five of my most recent go-tos below, so let's dive right in:

Almay Liquid Lip Balm in Lilac Love
I featured this in my last post, but realized that the photo didn't really do it justice. This beautiful, creamy gloss delivers a nice sheered out color that smells delectably like vanilla. It's not sticky at all - in fact, I've been able to throw this formula on when my lips are feeling a little dry, and this helps them feel perfectly moisturized.

Jordana Twist and Shine Balm Stain in Cranberry Crush
Whenever I think of cranberries, I think of Thanksgiving... so this is perfect for June, right? Actually, yes! This berry color is a perfectly acceptable choice for the warmer months we're in now. This lip crayon glides on easily, delivers color evenly, and stains the lips for hours afterward. Even the glossy balm finish stays on for quite a while! Since it's pretty much summer, I like to wear this sheered out, but you can definitely build the color for more of a statement.

POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer in Floating Rose
This was also featured in my Handpicked: Favorites in May post! I brought this with me on a weekend trip away after digging it out of the back of my makeup drawer, and I ended up using this exclusively. This gives your lips a full, even look with a rosy tint. The formula is a little thick to wear, which might be bothersome to some people, but I don't consider it to be sticky.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipstick in 17
You know that perfect your-lips-but-better, tea rose kind of shade? That's what this is for me. Rimmel's lipsticks always have a great formula, and this one is no exception. This creamy, tea rose pink is perfect for everyday wear. And the best part? It smells like candy. (Most Rimmel lipsticks do!)

NYC's Big Bold Plumping Lip Gloss in Pleasantly Plump Pink
I've never been one to seek out a plumping lip gloss. I always thought my lips were just fine, and if they were any bigger than they were it would look weird. I got this in an Influenster box several months ago and never even bothered to open it, thinking it wouldn't be my thing. I rediscovered it a few weeks ago and was completely swept away by it. This is a nice gloss for when you don't want a lot of color, but you still want something on your lips. I still get a kick out of the excessively large doe-foot applicator, which is actually quite nice for distributing the gloss evenly the first time.
