6 Easy Ways to Live an Organized Life

I've never been meticulous when it comes to organization. I often have cluttered table tops and junk drawers. Sometimes I can't remember where I left some of my belongings. I forget about replying to emails and comments and text messages. And sometimes, my idea of cleaning means shoving things out of sight. Why? I don't know. It's not a good way to go through life.

Now that I'm a responsible adult (wait, what?), I'm supposed to start getting my life together. I didn't even know where to begin a year ago! I was just a college senior with no concept of how the real world worked. Since then, I've been making small improvements toward organizing my time and my belongings... And it hasn't been bad at all.

You and I may never reach a perfect state of organization, but that's okay. There will be roadblocks. There will be setbacks. There will always be that one junk drawer to hide all our stuff in (let's be real). Regardless, I'm happy with the progress I've made. So, if you're wondering how to start getting more organized or how to finally organize your life, here are six easy ways to jumpstart your journey.

7 Ways to be Productive When You Really Don't Feel Like It

Have you ever had a lot of work to do, but absolutely no motivation to do it? In times like these, being productive isn't always easy. If you're like me, your first instinct might be to stop doing work altogether. When I had a lot of work to do in college and no time to do it in, I would lie down on the floor pathetically until I had a game plan figured out.

Don't be like me. No really, don't. For the sake of your sanity (and mine), here are 7 ways to be productive when you really, really don't want to be.

What I've learned from 2014

I like to focus on positivity and motivation on this blog, but in reality 2014 wasn't the easiest year for me. I graduated from college and was totally not prepared for what came afterwards. I spent a lot of time looking for jobs, worrying about my future, and feeling isolated. However, I did learn a few things from this not-so-great year and I'd like to share them with you.

How to make a New Years Resolution you'll actually keep

How to stick with a new years resolution
It's officially that time of year again! Everybody's scrambling to come up with a handful of New Years resolutions to make it seem like we've got our lives together, but those very same resolutions will probably be forgotten within a few weeks (or a few days, even).

How fulfilling would it be to keep up a New Years resolution for a long time? It's totally possible, and it doesn't have to be as hard as you imagine it to be. It will require some will-power and self-discipline, but if you really want to actually stick with your resolutions with this year, here are four easy tips to get you there.

Create the life you want. (It's easier than you'd think!)

We live in the age of the internet, and the "if it's not perfect, it's not worth sharing" mentality runs rampant. Having such stylized lives thrown in our faces on Pinterest, Instagram, and other blogs can be discouraging, especially when we realize that our lives don't live up to the standards we glean from others (and that they probably never will).

As the end of December draws near and we're all expected to create New Years' Resolutions, it's easy to become overwhelmed and discouraged. The truth is, you're not going to instantly change into a new person with a picturesque life on January 1st, and that's perfectly fine. However, it is possible to create some better habits and to ultimately achieve the improved life you've always wanted to live. Sound contradictory? It isn't, I promise. It's all about the baby steps...

Stressed out? Here are five ways to stress less.

Sometimes too many projects pile up on top of each other. There are times when all those meetings and other things you have to go to happen within a short time period. Other times, we just don’t know how we’re going to get through the week. We’ve all been there. When too many things begin to pile up before me, I tend to go into automatic shutdown mode. (My ever-graceful and very effective method of coping is laying face down on the floor. I can’t even fix things from down there.) Worried that everything that’s been weighing on your shoulders is getting the best of you? Here are some ideas to get you ready to get back in control.
