I've got a problem, and her name is Pinterest. Whenever there's real work to be done like working on my resume, writing a research paper, or trying to write a blog post (guilty), there she is, looming on the horizon like the time-killer you know you'll end up succumbing to. You know there's no way you'll ever slay her completely: you've cultivated too many recipes to try, DIYs you'll never do, and fashion pieces that you can never even hope of owning. But, the real question is... Why would you ever want to give her up? She makes you feel fancier than you already are. (Or, if it makes you feel any better, you could totally give it up anytime you wanted to. The first step is to stop referring to a website as a "she.")
I've been a fan of Pinterest for the past few years, but I never seriously got into it until this past year. Having a visual collection of things that inspire you isn't a bad thing at all! In fact, it can be really helpful when evaluating your goals and when trying to figure out your personal style. Some boards of mine are just really fun to cultivate, too. Here are a handful of my favorite boards to pin to:
- Gettin' Crafty. This is, without a doubt, one of my most pinned-to boards. Not only are there direct links to tutorials, but there are also things pinned in there that inspire me to create things for myself.
- Bubbles and Bath. This visual board of luxurious hand-pressed soaps, opulent bubble baths, and shower products will make you want to soak in tub after a long day with a glass of wine or a good book (or both).
- Organization. Everybody needs a little inspiration when it comes to getting your life together, even if you're just starting with your desk. This board has cultivated several posts about actual organizational tips (including time management, arrangements and decluttering) as well as some serious organization eye candy.
- Roaring 20s. Great life advice things that I find, inspirational quotes, and things that every young woman needs to know in her 20s. I actually really, really like this one.
What do you love to pin?
