Closet Warfare: My Top 7 Wardrobe Pieces [New tag!]

I've been in a bit of a blogging rut lately. Whenever I'm feeling uninspired and otherwise down in the dumps, I like to change into my favorite clothes to cheer myself up. Then, I got an idea...

What better way to break out of my blogging rut by creating a tag? Enter the Closet Warfare tag. What beats out the rest of your wardrobe?

Here are the rules:

  • Choose seven of your favorite items from your wardrobe. They can be anything: accessories, shoes, tops, you name it. You'll just want to be sure to pick the top seven from your wardrobe that obviously beat out everything else you own.
  • Write about them in a blog post or a video!
  • Acknowledge who tagged you, and tag a few of your favorite bloggers to participate too.

I don't consider myself to be a very fashionable person by any means. I try to keep up with fashion and style blogs, but I'm just not that good at looking put together. As a college student, most of my wardrobe is based around comfortable clothes, but I'll be looking to expand soon into the world of business wear for the job that I hope to acquire after graduation. Here are my 7 favorite things from my wardrobe, in no particular order:

  1. American Eagle Skinny Jeans are my go-to bottoms. I love this pair in particular because they have a good deal of stretch to them, making them so forgiving. I usually struggle with finding jeans that fit, so these work nicely for me.
  2. Old Navy Yoga Pants. I purchased these a few years ago, so I don't know if they still make this style, but they are perfect. The flare at the bottom isn't too big, they don't stretch out if you wear them a few workouts in a row (like my others do), and the thick black stripes down the sides are slimming. They are still in great shape even after all these years.
  3. Nike Running Shoes. So comfortable, and so cute. Just looking at them makes me want to slip them on and go running for miles. Only problem? I hate running.
  4. Floral Pleated Dress by New York & Company. The moment I first laid eyes on it, I knew it was coming home with me. This recent acquisition was purchased for my senior recital, my college graduation, and my cousin's wedding. The print is gorgeous, the cut forgiving and flattering, and the whole thing surprisingly comfortable. I've gotten so many compliments on this dress. It is well worth the price tag.
  5. This vintage tee from Forever 21 is so comforting. It's not really that much to look at, but it's a basic color that looks good paired with whatever outfit I throw it into... even if it's just with a pair of sweatpants and a family-sized bag of chips. I just love the soft feel of vintage-fit tee shirts.
  6. This necklace is also from Forever 21, which I bought a few years ago. I'm awful at accessorizing, so this is my go-to necklace when I need to dress up a certain top. I love the leaves and the beads!
  7. Finally, this blouse from Forever 21 might just be my favorite piece in my whole wardrobe. I bought it last year to wear to a conference I went to in Dallas, and I've simply fallen in love with it. Yellow is one of my favorite colors, but the best thing about it is that there are roses on the buttons. This blouse is so me.

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading! I will be updating this shortly with the specific bloggers I've tagged, but I also want to hear about your favorite pieces from your wardrobe. List your favorites in a comment, publish your own blog post, or make a video! I would love to see what you guys love to wear the most.

Here are the specific people I tag. Feel free to do it anyway and leave a link in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
See you soon,
Em

  3. OOhh I love the floral dress you picked, I just can't resist a good ol' floral print! And I really like the bright colour of the blouse as well, I don't usually wear a lot of bright colours although I wish I could pull them off! x

    1. It's more of a pastel! And I got this advice a little while ago that I think is relevant: the only thing standing in the way of you pulling off something you want to is you! You're the one that makes it or breaks it. I say go for it :)
