I've tried a handful of reds in the past, and I've been disappointed by all of them. They were either too orange, too bright, too dry, too sheer, or so glossy that it stayed everywhere but on the lips (and it looks like you just lost a pie-eating contest). However, I recently went shopping for a lipstick that would suit a character I was playing in a show (Maureen from Rent, if you're curious), and only one ended up coming home with me: the Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Cherry Blossom.
I really enjoy using this lipstick. It's richly pigmented and still soft enough that it doesn't tug the skin when applied and leaves a nice, slightly glossy finish in its wake. It's a nice, deeper red with blue undertones, so it helps make your teeth look a little whiter. Even after our run of Rent ended, I found myself reaching for this lipstick often, even if it was just to dress up a super casual outfit on my way to class. I even caught myself applying this before pulling an all-nighter while preparing for a midterm and writing a paper for another class. Why? Because it made me feel a little more confident and a lot less overwhelmed. Oh, and because I'm crazy.

This shade look freaking gorgeous!! Unfortunately I still haven't found the courage to wear a red lip outside, although it is one of my resolutions to be more comfident so maybe I'll start with that!

Beautiful red! Red lipstick is really the only type I wear. I guess it is a go big or go home mentality lol. Lately I am trying to get into trying to wear lighter pinks and corals.
