Snowy Day Essentials ❆

Sometimes, it's really nice to wake up to an email saying that one or two (or all) of your classes have been cancelled! That's what happened to me just an hour ago. Well, maybe just one class of mine has been cancelled so far, but what better way is there to celebrate it than to stay all snuggled up indoors with a few of your warmest favorites? (None. There is no better way.) So, in case you were wondering what to do on a snow day, or if you just wish you had one right now, read on.

1. The first thing you'll need to do is make yourself a nice cup of tea in one of your favorite mugs. This is one of my favorites because it has a picture of me with my roommate on it! And of course, for a snowy day inside, I chose Twinings' French Vanilla Chai tea to cuddle up with.
2. Next, you probably won't want to get too involved with your beauty routine, especially if you plan on staying inside all day, so stick with simple things. Protect your lips from the cold, dry air with the decadent (and inexpensive) Smith's Rosebud Salve, dust on some bronzer and a warm toned blush to balance out your pale overload (the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder and ELF Studio Blush in Candid Coral are my warm-up weapons of choice!), and finish with a perfume you love that evokes a snuggly atmosphere. I picked Aquolina Pink Sugar because it smells like what would happen if you cuddled with cotton candy... and besides, who wouldn't want that?
3. Finally, pick something to do for yourself that you've been meaning to do for a while but never quite found the time to do. I decided that painting my nails would be lovely, so I chose a warm rosy shade from OPI in Baguette Me Not. On a similar note, I also dug out my Wreck This Journal, a creative diary of sorts by Keri Smith in which each page features a different creative task. (One of the first ones I did was decorate the cover, which is something I'm halfway proud of.) I haven't filled out many of the pages in this book yet, so I'm looking forward to doing that today.

Now, if you need anything else, I'll be in my dorm room under a pile of blankets waiting for the rest of my classes to be cancelled so that I have a real excuse not to go anywhere today.
